On Monday, Filament, the restaurant that is destined to be Dallas' buzziest of the year, finally opened its doors. The long-awaited concept from Matt McCallister and Cody Sharp brings modern Southern cuisine to Deep Ellum, and also brings serious culinary chops to the city's fastest-growing dining district.
Prepare yourself for endive & citrus ambrosia, black truffle Hoppin' John, and other classed up old-school southern favorites. Order up a Push It, made with gin, Cocchi rosa, pink peppercorn, cucumber, and sea salt, to round out your dinner. By the looks of it, you probably can't go wrong with just about anything you choose.
Equally impressive is Filament's stark, industrial-chic decor. An antique drill press found in the building has been transformed into a host stand, along with the vintage glass insulators upcycled into bar lights. Never before has machinist equipment looked so impossibly stylish.
