Lakewood has plenty of casual places to dine, but the neighborhood’s newest establishment brings a decidedly more refined vibe. Just a few weeks ago, Smoky Rose made its debut at 8602 Garland Road with a light and airy space, killer new patio, and a menu of “rustically refined fare” from Chef David “Spoon” Gauthier.
As far as the menu is concerned, the brand new eatery features smoked meats by the pound, like Niman Ranch brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and turkey, alongside a selection of simple and straightforward entrees like The Chicken Dish, a seared chicken breast served with white barbecue sauce, cauliflower puree, and pickles.
Most notable, though, is the spacious patio outfitted with plenty of seating for fair weather days. Find a picnic table for your crew to park, then order up a few cocktails like the Bee Sting (bourbon, maple syrup, maraschino liqueur) or the Smokehouse Smash, mixed with spiced apple juice and apple pie moonshine.
Eater photographer Kathy Tran stepped inside Smoky Rose for a glimpse at the brand new space. Feast your eyes, then make your reservations.
