For the Eater Awards 2011, we're taking a look at a lesser appreciated side of restauranting: bathrooms. Earlier this year we asked you to tell us which bathrooms were the best in town, and we narrowed it down to three top-notch urination stations: Stephan Pyles, Tei-An Soba House and Neighborhood Services Tavern. In order to facilitate a more informed voting process, we visited all three locations, grabbed some photos and had a nice long ... think.
For our third installment, we present Tei-An Soba House, the bathroom wherein the most attention has been paid to the actual elimination part of things. Tei-An's fancy toilets have built-in, er, cleansing features. Choose from two kinds of "rear cleansing," a "front cleansing" or a dryer function. To ensure your privacy while you're playing with the gadgets, the doors turn from clear to fogged when locked. And whether you're coming or going from the bathrooms, you walk by a beautiful candlelit sculpture from the Crow Collection in the entryway.
Voting for Best Bathroom will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 4:45 p.m. today.
