At what point do we just say Oak Cliff is the place to go in this city if you're hungry, full stop? The Bishop Arts District is getting yet another eatery, this time a "neighborhood bar and grill and a hang-out spot" called the 303 Bar & Grill. It's going in behind the fancy new Gloria's restaurant, and Teresa Gubbins over at Pegasus News has the scoop, as per usual:
The food will be upscale bar food, heavy on sandwiches, but all homemade, according to a consultant on the project who asked not to be named.Making that upscale bar food will be chef Adam Bazaldua, formerly of Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen. On the menu: a Philly cheese steak empanada, BBQ chicken sliders and an eggplant burger. We're all for fancy, but damn y'all, what's a person got to do to get some proudly downscale bar food these days?"It used to be a taqueria, but it was originally just a house," he said. "It's been vacant and run down for the past five years. We took the house next to it, knocked it down and made a parking lot."
