Left Bank To Bring "Soft French Accent" To Bishop Arts

New, 1 comment

May we have votre attention, s'il vous plait? There's a "soft French accent" coming to the Bishop Arts District in the form of a new bistro called Left Bank, and it's backed by le cred sérieux. Randall Copeland and Nathan Tate of Rockwall's Restaurant Ava, plus brothers Bradley and Brooks Anderson of the Veritas Wine Room on Henderson Avenue. They'll be moving into the old Cafe Madrid/Decanter space at 408 N. Bishop Avenue, where they'll "strip the walls back to the original brick and have a really warm, rustic feel," according to Brooks Anderson.

He sends over a press release with the details. In short: American bistro, local ingredients and a menu that "will highlight the 'deliciousness of simplicity' infused with the creative talents of Chef Nate and Chef Randall." Anderson tells us they hope to open in late February or early March.

Bradley Anderson, Randall Copeland, Nathan Tate and Brooks Anderson are excited to announce their joint project, Left Bank, which will be located in the beautiful Bishop Arts District.

An American Bistro with a soft French accent, Left Bank will focus on simple yet classic technique and execution while sourcing the freshest local ingredients available. Left Bank's menu will highlight the 'deliciousness of simplicity' infused with the creative talents of Chef Nate and Chef Randall.

Left Bank will offer an affordable, eclectic wine list selected by Brooks and Bradley that will focus on offerings from France and the American West Coast, without neglecting selections from the other major wine regions of the world.

The small, but well-researched and oft-changing beer and cocktail lists shall round out Left Bank's offerings.

Just as La Rive Gauche, or The Left Bank, was the intellectual and artistic hub of Paris from the early 1920s through the post-WWII era, the Bishop Arts District occupies this very same milieu in Dallas. South of the Trinity River and full of independently owned galleries, boutiques, cafes and restaurants, the Bishop Arts District and North Oak Cliff are home to one of the most vibrant communities in our great State of Texas. The Left Bank team looks forward to joining and can only hope to complement this homegrown community of excellence.
