It's a little weird even typing the phrase "Dallas beer brewery," considering that up until a few months ago, there really was no such thing. Everybody knows Fireman's 4 is from Austin, and Rahr pours from Fort Worth, but Dallas beers have lately been limited to home-brew fanatics. Not so nowadays, thanks to the Deep Ellum Brewing Company and, now, Peticolas Brewery in the Design District.
So here's the nightmare: what if Dallas beer sucks? The brew fanatics at DFW Hops sat down recently to taste Peticolas' goods, and based on today's report, we can dream easy. The multitude of flavors in a glass of Peticolas' Velvet Hammer "coexisted perfectly," while the Kolsch tasted "like German summertime."
