Howdy, y'all. As of today, Eater officially makes camp in Dallas, where Eater Dallas will bring you the freshest, most relevant offerings from across the vast expanses of the Dallas-Fort Worth culinary news landscape. Whether it's four-stars or no-stars or somewhere between, Eater Dallas will make sure the best food and drink news—and, let's face it, sometimes the worst of same—boils to the top.
We're pumped about joining the Eater National family of sites in New York, Chicago, LA, SF, Miami, Austin, DC, and Portland—as well as our sister-launchers today in Houston and Atlanta.
So here's the deal: I'm Andrea Grimes, Eater Dallas' new editor. As a North Texas native, I'm extra excited to be starting the Eater Dallas conversation. And I promise to avoid using the term "Big D." But enough about me.
Eater Dallas will produce original reporting on openings, closings and other happenings-about-town, but we can't do it without your help: user-generated tips, rants and raves and other tidbits are what keep Eater at the top of the food chain when it comes to industry news. We'll also round-up the best of the rest when it comes to food media, independent blogs and national scoops. We don't gussy up our site with food porn, recipes or reviews, but if you come back every day, you'll never be out of the loop when it comes to the Dallas dining and drinking scene.
Which means: if you see something happen at a restaurant, if you hear something is going to happen at a restaurant, or you hear something won't happen at a restaurant any more, tip us off so we can spread the news. Openings, closings, stupid signs, lame policies, chef merry-go-rounds, kitchen tantrums, health code violations, celebrity sightings and other chicanery--we're interested. Is Dirk at the Uptown Chipotle again? Did you just get your ass handed to you by that Maple & Motor guy? What if your favorite food truck blows a tire? Do not hesitate to e-mail us: dallas@eater.com.
Reckon that's about it. Pleased to meet y'all, pleased to be here.
