Two local names famous for their meat 'n potatoes--Bob's Steak And Chop House and Del Frisco's--are set to open new steakhouses in Dallas this fall. First up, hometown classic Del Frisco's will open a mini-Del Frisco's Grille in Uptown at the towering One McKinney Plaza in early October. The Dallas Morning News reports the Grille has signed a 10-year lease in the newly renovated Plaza. Maybe they're craving a little local loving after Bloomberg's recent skewering of the Del Frisco's Rockefeller Center location? Ribeye with the "mouthfeel of a sponge?" Ouch.
Bob's Steak and Chophouse, meanwhile, will move into the brand-spanking-new Omni Dallas Hotel at the convention center in November. It's only fitting that a local outfit gets the gig--after all, Dallas taxpayers did fund the controversial hotel's construction, and Omni owns a 50 percent stake in the Bob's name.
