Welcome to Eater's latest feature, Shit People Steal, in which we ask restaurateurs what items in their restaurant have been (or are frequently) stolen.

LaGrange's Stephanie Schumacher brings so much to Deep Ellum with her stylish bar, venue and restaurant: brunch, tacos, great live music, a patio with misters. How could anyone in Dallas take something away from her? Specifically, how could someone(s) steal not one, but two separate and wonderful items from her establishment? She tells Eater Dallas:
"Someone stole our 6-foot tall blue Christmas tree from inside the cafe. Oh, and our "Be Nice or Leave" pillow was stolen within five days of opening."How did someone make off with a towering evergreen, you ask? We asked, too. Schumacher hasn't a clue: "I have no idea! Especially since they clearly walked down Elm Street with it. LOL!"
If you know the whereabouts of these items, we suggest returning them (or encouraging "your friend" to return them) to LaGrange at your or "their" earliest convenience. If you don't know the whereabouts of these items but do have a good story about shit people steal from your bar or restaurant, e-mail us.
