OAK LAWN -- Nonna's Julian Barsotti will open Carbone's, "a re-imagined Italian-American grocery store" that will feature a "Sunday Supper" on Sunday nights as well as a lunch counter. It'll open early next year at Wycliff and Oak Lawn, and is named after Barsotti's mama's family. [EscapeHatchDallas]
LAS COLINAS -- Last weekend the Four Seasons Las Colinas hosted more than 400 wine professionals at TexSom 2011. The wine experts met to name the Best Sommelier in Texas (Bill Elsey of Duchman Family Winery) and discuss the changing nature of sommelier-ing. Sommeling. Whatever. [The Feast DFW]
OAK CLIFF -- Tillman's Roadhouse in Bishop Arts will appear on an episode of the Food Network's new desserts-across-America show Sugar High, hosted by Duff Goldman. He'll be sampling the tableside s'mores, naturally. [Oak Cliff Advocate]
