Cutting through the red tape of food trailer permittage is no sweet time for the cupcake-vending women of Trailercakes, reports Scott Reitz over at City of Ate. Leora Azoulay Lesh told Reitz, "we found out there was a reason why there were no food trailers here." She and her partner bought a bakery storefront and an Airstream trailer ("Bubbles") to match, but couldn't get a permit as a food truck, trailer or cart because of Dallas' stringent, and decidedly un-with-it rules. For now, they're lurching along on temporary permits. [City of Ate]
