The Texas Bar-B-Q Tour will make its maiden voyage out of Fort Worth on the first Friday of October. Wondering what that means, exactly? Please allow their official website to 'splain: "It's like a wine tasting ... except it's bar-b-q." Load up on a professionally driven bus (so as to facilitate en route boozing) and allow tour guide and founder Billy Delp to stuff you full of meats from Smokey's, Off The Bone and Angelo's. All three of which, it should be noted, receive four-star ratings from Full Custom Gospel BBQ, the only barbecue blog that matters. Via the Star-Telegram, which has the story:
Local entrepreneur Billy Delp never got to go on a tour of some of Brooklyn's best pizza joints. It was sold out on the Fourth of July when he wanted to go. But it sparked a conversation with a food tour owner in the New York City borough, who told Delp that if he lived in Texas, he'd do a barbecue tour.Tickets to the tour, which includes Fort Worth landmarks as well as food and transport, are $75. The Startlegram also reports that there's supposedly a reality television show in the works.
