The founder of summer food programs for kids in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi has filed a defamation suit against Dallas-Fort Worth's Fox affiliate, KDFW, according to the Courthouse News Service. Bruce Carter claims that in August, KDFW "defamed him in a false and malicious report that claimed taxpayer money for the programs was missing" and "blazoned his 15-year-old convictions across the screen, atop his photo." He supervises the WAG Program and OSP Fund, which help get food to children on summer vacation. Carter says he and his family have received death threats as a result of the broadcast.
