John "The Most Hated Chef In Dallas" Tesar is back again as host of the third annual Burgers & Burgundy benefit event, supporting Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS, or DIFFA. On the menu: a chef-on-chef burger making competition, and Tesar is bringing along some local culinary celebrity friends-slash-competitors, notably: Tim Byres of Smoke, Scott Romano at Charlie Palmer, Teicchi Sakurai of Tei An, plus more. The event's at One Arts Plaza on October 9th, and tickets are $75. From the official press release:

[DALLAS, TX - September 21, 2011]— Celebrity chefs will join Chef John Tesar at One Arts Plaza, Sunday, October 9th, 2011 for the third annual Burgers & Burgundy event benefitting The Dallas Chapter of DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS). Each chef has been tasked with the challenge to serve up the best burger and compliment them with wines and specialty cocktails from Grey Goose Vodka. Funds raised from the event will go towards DIFFA/Dallas’s mission of serving those who are affected by AIDS and HIV across North Texas.
