The Cedars Social bar down on South Lamar took part in a four-bar, statewide promotional event-slash-competition last Thursday to see who could sell the most French 75 cocktails, and today they announced their victory on Facebook. A French 75 is so-named for the fact that it makes you feel like you've been shot with a French 75mm howitzer artillery, can be made with either gin or cognac (for promotional purposes, Cedars Social was pouring with Citadelle Gin or Pierre Ferrand Cognac). The Dallas bartenders beat out the Anvil Bar & Refuge in Houston, the Esquire Tavern in San Antonio and Second Bar + Kitchen in Austin by selling 364 cocktails. [Cedars Social/Facebook]
