As the Year of the Rabbit draws to a close, it's time to start thinking about celebrations for the Year of the Dragon. Sure, it seems we just got finished nursing a cheap champ-, er, sparkling wine hangover, but there's little not to love about a celebration of starting fresh that doesn't just fizzle after a single night of head pounding.
Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck is ready to throw down for Chinese New Year with what its calling a "culinary tour of the five Chinese elements." Metal, fire, water, wood and earth will all be represented via the upscale Asian fusion known to spin from the hands of chef Patton Robertson and atop Reunion Tower (do keep the slow-speed spinning in mind as you celebrate, drinkers).
The menu -- prix fixe at $125 per, or $175 per with wine pairing, because it's fancy -- will be available in addition to the regular menu from January 23 to February 3, but one night in particular is super special. Wolfgang Puck himself will be making a special appearance February 1. Unfortunately, he probably won't be reading aloud from romance novels (we'll never forget, Wolfgang), but having that feisty gent in the room should more than make up for the lack of titillating reading material. Besides, the menu with its lobster dumplings, longevity noodles and pineapple sticky cake is already pretty sexy.
