Brooklyn's Tony Calzone Documents Cane Rosso Experience, Updated!

Anthony Falco of Roberta's in Brooklyn makes pizza videos in his spare time. And that spare time includes while on vacation here in the Big D.

"Tony Calzone" found himself at Jay Jerrier's Il Cane Rosso in Deep Ellum searching for his own "Oh shit!" moment after Jerrier explained his inspiration for opening the pizzeria. It came with his Lockhart burnt ends pizza and the Vesuvio, which master pizzaiolo Dino Santonicola demonstrates.

After Falco sent us the video (also shared with Slice), we asked him a few questions and are waiting for his response. We'll update here when we hear back -- we just have to share this footage.

Update!
Falco, originally from Austin, has now shared via email that he was here visiting his mom, who lives here in Dallas. The pizzas featured in the video weren't the only Cane Rosso pies he tried: "I also tried the margherita, it was a great example of the traditional Neapolitan pizza skills these guys have. But that burnt ends pizza was one of the highlights of my trip to Tejas."

As far as other local food adventures, Falco checked out Love Shack ("It was a very solid burger.") and In-n-Out in Fort Worth, which he said was a surreal experience but proved "100% as good as Cali." He's also addicted to Torchy's trailer park taco.
