The story has been all over the Interwebs for the last 24 hours: Anastacia Quiñones, formerly of Alma, has been added to Abraham Salum's team at Komali.
Leslie Brenner offers up what she heard from Salum regarding the new addition:
"I'm very excited," he says. "She brings a lot of technique and a lot of experience to the kitchen." ... "We'll be playing around more, using Mexican ingredients and being a little more adventurous with our food."
Quiñones wrote to Nancy Nichols over on SideDish and Nichols shared the details:
“We are going to do some contemporary dishes, some more familiar dishes but not Tex-Mex, and we’re going some rustic hard core authentic dishes.” I asked her to explain what she meant by contemporary. “I like to do some pretty crazy things,” she said. “My guests at Alma really loved it when I went crazy.”
