We first saw the news from Mike Hiller over on EscapeHatch: the brunch go-to of Knox-Henderson, Horne & Dekker closed shop. As of his posting, the outgoing phone message already said, "Goodbye and thank you for calling."
Open Table couldn't break through and neither could the Interwebs. Today, the website is still completely non-functional. No goodbyes, just an error message -- in our case, that Safari can't connect the server.
Teresa Gubbins at Pegasus has more. Thanks to a contact of hers connected to Horne & Dekker (opened in 2010 by Shawn Horne and Flynn Dekker), she reports the staff was informed Monday night. Though, really, it's not a huge shock thanks to Horne's recently parting ways with the Henderson joint (and taking a chef with him) to open Monty's Cafe in Fort Worth.
At the time of Gubbins' post, Dekker could not be reached for comment, but since then he has posted a comment on Pegasus News explaining his need to inform the entire staff before speaking with media. He also noted "If anyone needs a great cook, prep person, dishwasher, server, bartender or busboy - please email me at dekker@horneanddekker.com."
