Yesterday, Chris Jeffers of the Smoke family sent word that meat master and Eater Dallas Chef of the Year nominee Tim Byres would be heading to Washington DC as part of a very special series of events.

Byres is one of 10 chefs from across the country who will step in and replace chef R.J. Cooper in his Rogue 24 restaurant, fairly recently opened in the Shaw neighborhood. Cooper will be undergoing open-heart surgery and will be unable to work while he recovers, so Byres and other recognizable chefs such as José Andrés and Top Chef's Jennifer Carroll and Bryan Voltaggio will head his kitchen in week-long stints during what will be called the Rogue Sessions.

Tickets to the sessions are $185 and available a week in advance of each chef on Gilt City.
