Lumi On McKinney Avenue Closes

New, 3 comments

McKinney has lost a noteworthy player in the game of cocktail and tiny delicious. According to a Facebook status from Lumi Empanada and Dumpling Kitchen posted less than an hour ago, the restaurant has closed. It reads:

Yesterday was Lumi's last day, we have permanently closed our doors. It's been a wonderful 3 years and wanted to thank you all for the support through the years. Thank you for all the great memories!!!!
The little house with the modern decor, which served up both Brazilian and Vietnamese inspired fare, was also known for its bold cocktails that were gorgeous to look at and a bit dangerous to drink in multiples. And not because the bar employed jalapeño, ginger and other outspoken fresh ingredients.

We reached out to the restaurant's management by phone and email, but as of yet, have only received an automated response of "Thank you," -- in keeping with Lumi's style, reflected in the sleek and minimal decor. We assume the status update to be the official statement from Lumi, but if more is to come, we'll update here.
