Surely, it's no surprise. Dean Fearing has been on the scene, on the screen, and steaming hot for decades. Today, however, Forbes posted its Top 10 Restaurants Across The Country For A Power Lunch as part of Forbes Travel Guide and Fearing's is on it.
Dallas' only claim on the list, Fearing's is lauded as a "midday mecca" and famed Dean dishes (just guess) are mentioned. Oprah's Chicago fave RL Restaurant, Tony's in Houston and -- no surprise here -- DC's Palm are keeping Fearing's company, among others.
The last entry on the list, here's Dallas' entry:
Fearing's: As home to AT&T, Southwest Airlines and Texas Instruments, Dallas has no shortage of business elite. Fearing's, inside The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, is a midday mecca for power brokers—by noon the Southwestern restaurant is buzzing with orders for celebrity chef Dean Fearing's famous tortilla soup and Dublin Dr. Pepper-braised short ribs. Each of the multiple dining rooms has a different feel—for a casual and lively lunch, sit in Dean's Kitchen, and for an upscale, elegant meal, head to the Gallery. We're guessing Mr. Dean's hair looks especially spiky and proud right about now, his walk to the pass even more cocksure than usual.
Hey, Top Chef judges. Now do you know why they were trying to barbecue with Dr Pepper? Yeah, see.
