This week in new restaurants with absurdly long names: The new Greek spot replacing Screen Door in One Arts Plaza will no longer be called Meze, as previously announced. The new name is The Greek — Pita, Meze, Wine and it's slated to open October 15. (For brevity's sake, Eater shall henceforth refer to it as simply The Greek.)
The Greek is brought to you by the owners of Ziziki's, an Uptown staple since it opened on Travis Walk back in 1994. The menu will feature classic Greek dishes like those found at Ziziki's, plus new items like a Greek twist on a French dip sandwich and a grilled steak pita topped with a fried egg. (Jason Kosmas is doing the cocktail menu, naturally.)
The Greek will hold a soft opening on October 14 to coincide with the One Arts Plaza block party.
