Fans of State Fair-esque food will now have to, er, actually go the fair. As reported on SideDish, The Stand is closed after just nine months in business. Located in the old Rock 'n' Taco spot, The Stand offered slightly elevated takes on fair food like a deep-fried hot dog topped with chili and mac and cheese, nachos and fried Twinkies, plus delivery of food, cigarettes and booze to nearby residents.

The location on a busy stretch of McKinney Avenue is notoriously devoid of parking options; Rock 'n' Taco lasted just a year in the space. The restaurant's voicemail message says they intend to get a food truck rolling by mid-October—which seems appropriate, given the Airstream trailer that served as the restaurant's ordering station.
