Pop Diner Staffing Up to Open in West Village

Signs appeared in the window at 3600 McKinney Avenue back in July foretelling the arrival of Pop Diner, a new 24-hour eatery going in alongside Max's Wine Dive. The project has been kept almost completely under wraps; little is known about the concept or who is behind it, other than the fact that it will be open around the clock and will serve booze (as indicated by the liquor license application posted in the window). According to a Craigslist want ad, Pop Diner is staffing up and "will launch soon".

Twenty-four hour diner options in the city are few and far between, especially since the sad closing of Metro Diner back in April of last year; patrons looking for non-chain offerings are mostly limited to select Cafe Brazil locations and Buzzbrews.
