OAK CLIFF—Blues, Bandits & BBQ kicks off tomorrow at 5 p.m. just west of the Bishop Arts district on Davis. Expect a beer garden, a barbecue competition smoking up a half-ton of meat, live music, food trucks, a cooking demo from Smoke's Tim Byres, an outdoor screening of Bonnie & Clyde and a beer garden. (Best of all, admission is free.) The festivities continue Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. [Go Oak Cliff]
DEEP ELLUM—Alice Laussade aka The Cheap Bastard will be the guest chef at Cane Rosso next Monday. Expect a "Meat Fight" pizza and dessert calzones stuffed with Halloween candy, because duh. [City of Ate]
MOCKINGBIRD—Central 214 is debuting a new menu from chef Graham Dodds tomorrow. Fall additions include rabbit with mascarpone polenta, duck egg yolk and ricotta raviolo and dry-aged duck with quince and lentils. Bartender Amber West is also spicing up the cocktail menu (literally) with autumn-appropriate ingredients like nutmeg, pumpkin and apple. [Eaterwire]
