Dallas' burgeoning food truck scene is one step closer to reaching Austin-like levels of awesome: CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that the long-awaited food truck park on Lower Greenville has tapped chef Jason Boso of Twisted Root fame to oversee operations, as well as open a restaurant hawking Philly cheesesteaks that will act as the center spoke of the park. The cheesesteak spot will also offer "a pretty nice full bar with some good draft beers and cocktail service, for that backyard area that'll be shared with the food trucks," Boso told CultureMap.
The park, projected to open in May, is planned for the area right across the street from the future Trader Joe's, which is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013; the two will share a parking lot. One can imagine popping in for a cheesesteak and a beer before hitting up TJ's for mochi ice cream and Two Buck Chuck. It's going to be a glorious spring, Dallas.
