Design District Tonight; Taco Festival in 2013

DESIGN DISTRICT—The Design District Market is in session tonight with food trucks (including Belgian Waffle Co. and the brand new Bombay Chopstix), local vendors, beer from Peticolas, Lakewood, Deep Ellum, Rahr, and Revolver brewing companies and live music. The festivities kick off at 5 p.m. and go until 10 at Cole Avenue between Dragon and Slocum streets. [Eaterwire]

LEWISVILLE—English 'cue reviewer Gavin Cleaver navigated his way through Lewisville's bevy of chains to find some pretty decent smoked meats at Dat's Good BBQ. He cites brisket that's way better than Dickey's and extra-smoky sausage that's "some of the best". [City of Ate]

DEEP ELLUM—The first ever North Texas Taco Festival has been announced for April 20 next year. The event is brought to you by Taco Trail, Entree Dallas and the Deep Ellum Outdoor Market and will feature ten-plus taco vendors plus an Iron Chef-style battle between Brian Luscher and another TBA competitor. A taco festival on 4/20—merely a coincidence? Follow developments on Twitter @NTXTacoFest. [Eaterwire]
