Snack Will Not Reopen as New Concept

D critic Nancy Nichols is breathing a sigh of relief. Chef Avner Samuel will not reopen the recently shuttered Snack on Henderson Avenue as a new concept and is apparently abandoning the project altogether to focus on Nosh, his "Euro bistro" with two Oak Lawn and Plano locations.

Snack was on shaky ground from the time it opened back in May, with diners and critics alike panning the food, the service, and the cheesy decor. (At least they put it out of its misery quickly.) What will be next for the space already haunted by the ghosts of Urbino and Horne & Dekker? How about a dry cleaners?
