Another addition to the slew of openings this week: Mega-restaurateur Alberto Lombardi's newest venture Cafe des Artistes is open tonight for dinner in One Arts Plaza (in the old Screen Door space) with a cozy Parisian bistro feel, sporting plenty of red velvet, delightfully retro globe fixtures, dark banquettes and white tablecloths. The menu is something they're calling 'Cali-Euro', with updated twists on French classics like escargot with brown butter risotto and braised short ribs with truffle jus. Chef David Garwacki heads up the kitchen. (Don't be surprised when the bartender busts out some tunes on the grand piano. It's that kind of place.)
