Kim Pierce over on Eats Blog received word and reported today that Ben Rikhilal of Kurry King has passed (the information originated from Rikhilal's daughter).
Pierce notes in her post the many customers of Dallas Farmers Market Shed No. 2 who surely benefited from Rikhilal's tutorials on Indian spices and cuisine. That said, you didn't always have to visit Kurry King's stall to get tips and tricks -- a few online videos for classic dishes provided a bit of back-up at home. As a small tribute, here's a favorite we've used several times: Cooking Saag Paneer with the Kurry King.
He was indeed a culinary fixture, and he will be greatly missed.
