Restaurants: Mind Your Fonts

A while back, the Advocate advised us that Verona Italian would be adding to its Plano and Alba locations, by jumping into the rowdy little strip that already houses Hypnotic Donuts. Well, Zeqir Lokaj's joint is now open -- based on the neon and serifed banner in the window, not by the lack of lunchtime crowd which was happy awaiting beer biscuits at Barbec's (but it surely takes time).

There's just one thing for which the Advocate's brief and the neon could never prepare us (or anyone). Comic Sans?! For an Italian restaurant sign?! A not inexpensive sign that lights up at night?! Whichever sign company is responsible for that thing should be ashamed for not at least suggesting an alternate font. At the very least we can sleep at night knowing the other Verona locations don't share the new sign design (as of yet).

Future restaurateurs, hear us: Comic Sans and restaurant signs (or menus or anything) don't mix.
