Yappy Hour At Bolla; Street's Second Liberty Burger

UPTOWN -- Bolla Bar at The Stoneleigh now welcomes dog lovers and their dogs to "Yappy Hour" on the patio. Free dog treats and water for the pups; drink specials for the other end of the leash. Pet-friendly hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Monday-Saturday; all day starting at 11 a.m. Sundays. [Stoneleigh]

FAR NORTH DALLAS -- Mariel Street's second Liberty Burger will be at Keller Springs and the Tollway. Same food and fast-casual set-up as the first joint but expanded bar service. Mariel's dad is Dallas restaurant legend Gene Street. [PegasusNews]

NORTH DALLAS -- Food trucks and live music will add to the sizzle of Chefs on Fire, an all-day block party Sunday, April 29, at the Shops at Park Lane (on the east side of Central Expressway). The free event starts at 8 a.m., with the big draw being the grilling competish that'll have more than 20 teams cooking to win the $1,000 prize at the end of the day. Each team includes one DFW-area chef and one firefighter. Among chefs participating are Randall Copeland from Restaurant Ava, Samir Dhurandhar from Nick & Sam’s, Graham Dodds from Central 214 and John Tesar from Spoon. Food trucks participating will include The Bomb Fried Pies, The Butcher’s Son, Cajun Tailgators, Easy Slider, Gandolfo’s, Gennarino’s, Jack’s Chowhound, Little Vessel, Nammi, Paul Brooks, Rock and Roll Taco, Ruthie’s Rolling Café, Tin Star Taco Taxi and Trailercakes. The event is also a fundraiser for the Parkland Regional Burn Center. [Chefs on Fire]
