So much going on in Ed Bailey's World o' Restaurants right now. There's been talk of walk outs at the Chesterfield, there are chef shuffles every which way, and now, the revered Avner Samuel has been called into Bailey's Prime Plus. Or, as the official press release says, "to redefine the restaurant's cuisine."
Nancy Nichols got the release while on the phone with Samuel, who explained he and Nosh co-owner Jon Stevens would be launching an interim menu at the Shops at Park Lane location tonight. While the press release says "Samuel and Stevens will oversee culinary direction, menu development and seasonal additions," Nichols was able to get a few more specifics.
The press release describes the new menu as being "chef-driven cuisine with emphasis on steaks," but Samuel explained to Nichols that he and Stevens would be in the Bailey's Prime Plus Park Lane kitchen this week, as they retool the menu to be more family friendly, more reasonably priced and, hopefully more successful. He mentioned salads and seafood.
Bailey's Prime Plus word states that the new menu will be officially unveiled at the the Park Lane location in May, with other locations following suit.
