Ryan Tedder, the sommelier at the yet to open restaurant FT33, was just named Texas' best sommelier at this year's 8th Annual TexSom, which concluded last night. Tedder beat out 22 other Texas sommelier contenders in a three-part exam that included blind tasting, theory, and service. He most recently served as sommelier at Fort Worth's Grace and before that at Stephan Pyles.
Tedder received a $2,500 scholarship to be used for a Court of Master Sommeliers certification program. The runners up included David Keck of Uchi in Houston and Steve Murphey of Mid-Stage Wine & Liquor in Plano.
