The DMN reports that hundreds of thousands of dollars in inspection fees collected from restaurant owners over the past two years were diverted to supplement a struggling city budget instead. Diners were dismayed to learn back in April that hundreds of restaurants, from fast food to high-end, had gone years without so much as a single inspection by city officials. [Dallas Morning News]
