A new dinner option debuts in Oak Cliff tonight: a BYOB sports bar. Wait, what? The new Pour House Dallas (or "PhD" for short—cute, huh?) is still in limbo waiting for its liquor license, but it's forging ahead and opening for dinner service at 5 p.m. to serve bar food with a side of football. (The bar has been open for weekday lunches only since early September.) Patrons can bring their own booze, but be prepared to pony up a $5 "setup fee" for the privilege.
But wait, doesn't Dallas already have a bar called The Pour House? Yes, nine miles away at 1919 Skillman. (That's likely to cause at least a little confusion, especially since the Lakewood bar's website is located at PourHouseDallas.com.)
Owner Eric Tschetter already operates a Pour House Fort Worth located in the West 7th corridor. The new O.C. location features a huge wraparound deck and a dog-friendly patio. Weekend brunch service will begin this Saturday.
