According to Nancy Nichols, the Pan Borracho at newly opened Max's Wine Dive is a "culinary crime" consisting of "a disgusting mess of torn sourdough bread, prosciutto, and thyme soaked in a savory white wine custard and baked with Gruyere, provolone, and Parmigiano-Reggiano". (Her description actually sounds kind of delicious, besides the "disgusting mess" part.)
Max's stands behind their drunk bread, though, and is offering diners 25 percent off an order of the dish today when they mention SideDish. Well played, Max's. Well played.
