Chef Kenny Bowers To Open Kenny's Smoke House This December

Chef Kenny Bowers will bring his penchant for cater-to-your-every-whim customer service and over-the-top indulgent dishes to Plano's Shops at Legacy this winter. Inspired by his travels to barbecue destinations around the country, Bowers plans to open Kenny's Smoke House in December. The new joint will specialize in an array of proteins hailing from both land and sea smoked over hickory wood—which, in a rather Starbucksian analogy, he describes as "the Pike Place Blend of smoking woods". (The new concept sounds vaguely reminiscent of Tim Love's recently opened Woodshed Smokehouse in Fort Worth—but Kenny's new place will offer scenic views of Plano cougars versus Woodshed's Trinity River vistas.)

Bowers is known for his string of eponymous restaurants: Kenny's Wood-Fired Grill and Kenny's Italian Kitchen, both of Addison, and Kenny's Burger Joint in Frisco.
