As Scott Reitz reports, Chef Jeffery Hobbs has amicably parted ways with Lisa Garza's Southern fried chicken haven Sissy's Southern Kitchen & Bar to pursue other interests. Sous chef Chris Ostlund has been promoted to run the kitchen in his place. Sissy's has gained critical acclaim since its opening back in February for its upscale take on Southern cuisine and adorably down-home interior.
And what are those other interests, pray tell? A new restaurant, of course. SideDish's Carol Shih grilled Hobbs for deets and he revealed that he's currently deciding between two potential spaces. The food will be "not exactly Southern", and it will definitely not be called Jeffery's.
