Max's Wine Dive Brings Fried Chicken & Champagne to the West Village on September 12

Max's Wine Dive, the upscale comfort food joint touting a slogan of "Fried chicken and champagne?...Why the hell not?!", will officially open its West Village doors on September 12. According to a press release, executive chef Patrick Russell will serve a bipolar menu divided into "Classics" and "Chef's Seasonal Creations": Expect down-home classics like fried chicken and mac and cheese alongside more cheffy items such as foie gras torchon sliders with Concord grape ketchup and a sweetbreads pot pie with Parmesan cream.

Max's, which also has locations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio, will also offer retail wine sales and boasts of being "one of the only restaurants in the city pouring Dom Perignon Champagne 'by the glass'"—you know, for those balling-on-a-budget evenings.
