Top Chef: Life Without John Tesar

jvalTC.jpgEleven episodes into Top Chef: Seattle, our original Dallas threesome has been reduced to a lone Joshua Valentine, and FT33's mustachioed pastry maven seems to be stepping up his game: In last night's episode he got off to a slow start, with judge Wolfgang Puck knocking his white chocolate-ginger dessert soup for lacking flavor, but for the elimination challenge—part one of a weird two-part edition of the hallowed Restaurant Wars—he cooked a luscious-looking ribeye with cauliflower puree and ended up on the favorable side of judges' table, just missing out on winning $10,000. [Bravo]
