Peak & Elm Will Feature Texas Beers, Craft Cocktails

More details have been released on Peak & Elm, the new restaurant from the owners of La Popular Tamale House opening in a historic building on the edge of Deep Ellum; according to a press release, the Moreno family's newest venture will feature "classic Mexican dishes with a modern flair", relying heavily on local purveyors like the Mozzarella Company, Empire Bread, and Times Ten Cellars.

Besides local wine, the bar will also showcase Texas beers only, plus "unique craft cocktails like the Streetcar Sangria and a signature pear margarita". A selection of small and large plates will feature elote, tamale pie (a riff on the Texas classic Frito Pie utilizing tamales as a base), and a "new take" on fajitas.

The entire menu will be lard- and gluten-free, in addition to vegetarian and vegan options. Peak & Elm opens for business February 8.
