8 Halloween Parties to Hit Up Tonight & Thursday

Getting too old for trick-or-treating door to door but still wanna show off that sweet Miley Cyrus costume? Here are eight other options (many of which are free) for Halloween parties tonight and Thursday:

Wednesday, 10/30

Where: The People's Last Stand
When: 8 p.m.
What's going on: Admission is free and everyone gets 2 free drink tickets. The party is co-hosted by the Dallas Diva and CultureMap Dallas and will feature music by DJ Blake Ward, a costume contest with prizes, classic horror movies, a fortune teller, and complimentary snacks till 10 p.m

Where: Taverna Rossa
When: Live music begins at 7:30; happy hour at 9 p.m.
What's going on: Snap a photo of your costume in TR's photo booth; anyone ordering a Lakewood Brewing pint gets to keep the glass. Happy hour pricing will include $2 off drafts and $5 apps including queso and meatballs.

Thursday, 10/31

Where: Sissy's Southern Kitchen
When: 5 p.m.
What's going on: $8 Halloween-themed cocktails, live music, a raffle, and a costume contest (including a prize for the best hillbilly costume).

Where: Deep Ellum Brewing Company
When: 6 p.m.
What's going on: DEBC's usual Thursday brewery tour will be kicked up with a costume contest (prizes for best and worst costume) a commemorative pint glass, the Easy Slider truck on hand for snacks, and live music. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

Where: The Wine Poste
When: 7 p.m.
What: A wine and chocolate pairing class with Dude, Sweet Chocolate's Katherine Clapner; enjoy five wines with accompanying chocolates. Costumes are welcome; seats are $35 per person and can be purchased here.

Where: Truck Yard
When: Starts at 9 p.m.
What: "Peeps & Pups" will award a $500 bar tab for best human costume, and $100 bar tab for best pet costume.

Where: Alamo Drafthouse
When: 4-6 p.m.
What's going on: Expect a family-friendly event with a bounce house, pumpkin decorating, face painting, a costume contest with prizes, music by DJ Playdate, trick or treating in the theaters and Halloween-themed cocktails for purchase in the bar.

Where: Club 31 (above Bistro 31) in Highland Park Village
When: 10 p.m.-midnight
What's going on: Looking for something a bit fancier? Veuve Clicquot is sponsoring Bistro 31's "Yelloween." Expect the champagne to be flowing; wear a costume or go "casual chic."
