Kyle Noonan and Josh Sepkowitz (aka FreeRange Concepts) are on the verge of opening yet another big project, this one right next door to their combo dog park/restaurant Mutts: The Rustic, a restaurant/bar/live music venue the duo partnered on with musician Pat Green, will officially open for dinner next Wednesday.
Chef-consultant-around-town of York Street fame Sharon Hage consulted on the menu but former Bolsa sous chef Matt Balke will handle the everyday kitchen operations, according to a press release that describes the menu as "approachable comfort food" that's heavy on the local products, sourcing from purveyors like Caprino Royale, Comeback Creek, Barking Cat Farms, and Tom Spicer's FM1410.
If you just can't wait for opening night, this weekend is jam-packed with pre-opening festivities include a sold-out Pat Green concert on Friday, a sneak peek dinner service with live music on Saturday, a TX/OU watch party on Saturday, and a Cowboys watch party on Sunday. (With inside seating for 250 and outside seating for 300 more, there will likely be room for everyone.)
Take a look at the full food and drink menu, which includes everything from wild boar meatballs and molasses-brined quail to 40 beers on tap and cocktails made with locally distilled spirits, right this way:
