Origin Natural Food, the McKinney Avenue coffee shop with a decidedly healthy slant that's staked its claim on offering grab-and-go meals, will temporarily close its doors on Friday, October 18 with plans to reopen as Origin Kitchen + Bar.
According to a press release, "the new concept will be a casual fine-dining restaurant for dinner service featuring an open kitchen and full bar." A separate, made-to-order breakfast and lunch menu will be offered during the day; the extensive coffee and espresso selections (Origin brews locally roasted Cultivar Coffee beans) will remain the same.
The release doesn't give many details on the menu, but one would assume it to be along the same lines as the current grab-and-go offerings: locally sourced, gluten-, dairy- and soy-free. Look for Origin to reopen in early December.
