Restaurateur Genaro Silva of eighties hot spot Genaro's Tropical returns to the Dallas dining scene tonight with the debut of his brand new venture Genaro's Mexican Cuisine on Mockingbird Lane near Abrams.

The menu spotlights the lighter side of Mexican cuisine, with seafood-centric dishes like spinach-wrapped swordfish kebabs (a relic from the Genaro's Tropical days) and sea bass with serrano-cactus sauce; other dishes of note include lamb enchiladas, beef tongue tacos, and cochinita pibil (pulled pork cooked in banana leaves). Expect professional service, plenty of strong drinks, and a carefully curated playlist of sexy Latin music — anyone who used to frequent Genaro's Tropical knows Silva is a guy who likes to have a good time.
