Changes are afoot at Dallas icon Snuffer's, but fret not: there will be plenty of cheese fries for everyone. According to a press release, Snuffer's Restaurants, Inc. (which declared bankruptcy back in the spring) "has ceased operations," but original owner Pat Snuffer will retain control of the OG location on Greenville Avenue that's been under construction since April, turning it into the "individually owned and operated" Pat's Burger & Cheddar Fries (which basically sounds like the exact same concept with a different moniker).
Meanwhile, Mike Karns' Firebird Restaurant Group (El Fenix, Meso Maya), which bailed the Snuffer's chain out by purchasing its bank note back in July, will "take over operations of all six Snuffer's Restaurant & Bar locations." According to that press release, "it is Firebird's desire to protect the Snuffer's brand and ensure that it not only survives, but thrives."
So, in summary: The original Snuffer's on Lower Greenville will now be known as Pat's Burger & Cheddar Fries, and the other six Snuffer's (Addison, Park Cities, Plano, Rockwall, Southlake, Highland Village) will remain Snuffer's. See? Plenty of cheese fries for everyone.
