Here's an inside look at The Woolworth, the new downtown cocktail bar that has replaced the short-lived Stone Street Martini Lounge. The newly revamped spot is a joint effort from manager Brandon Luke, "bar chef" Mike Hernandez, and chef Ronald Van Hatten (who's also responsible for the food at two other downtown spots, RJ Mexican Cuisine and The Butcher Shop Steakhouse).
Besides a cocktail menu that includes classics like the Sazerac and Corpse Reviver (as well as more newfangled creations like a Pumpkin Spice rum drink) and small plates that range from brie-and-lobster fondue to habanero-spiced pork rinds, The Woolworth will also offer casual counter service at lunch with Chipotle-esque "Super Fit Bowls," tacos, po'boys and other sandwiches, plus Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas, bacon bloody Marys and a massive gut-buster called "The Hangover" with a giant biscuit, fried chicken, eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, hash browns, gravy and maple syrup. (Scope out the full menus here.)
Swing by tomorrow night from 6 p.m. "until late" for their grand opening celebration.
