The city's first dedicated ramen shop is still a work in progress, but in the meantime, devotees of the luscious Japanese noodle soup can get a late-night fix in some unexpected places thanks to Lucia line cook Justin Holt.
Holt, who previously worked under Anthony Bombaci at the now defunct Nana, will be doing a pop-up kitchen to serve his brothy bowls at Oak Cliff dive bar Tradewinds Social Club this Friday night, and Saturday night at nearby Ten Bells Tavern. Holt says he loves ramen and felt that Oak Cliff was seriously lacking in any late-night food options other than tacos. He's making all the ingredients for the ramen — which will contain pork belly, scallions, and a poached egg — from scratch, including the noodles.
Stop by either drinking destination after midnight to snag a bowl for $5, but keep in mind quantities are limited and when it's gone, you may be left hungry and crying into your PBR.
